Compact flourescent vs. incandescent lighting
How many bulbs do you want to replace?

Compact flourescent lightbulbs are an easy way to save energy. They are as small as a regular lightbulb, don't flicker and come in different light spectrums, including a warm white. They also produce less heat than normal incandescent bulbs, which will help keep your home cooler in hot summer months. This calculator compares a 15W compact flourescent to a 60W incandescent, based on five hours of use a day (you may actually find that an 11W flourescent is an adequate replacement for a 60W bulb).

Incandescent $ kg kg cars per year

Emission impacts
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) creates smog and acid rain.
Sulphur dioxide (SO2) is also a major contributor to smog and a major cause of acid rain
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a major cause of global climate change, which threatens to disrupt ecosystems and lead to unstable and dangerous weather patterns
